Purchase terms
In force from: 19.08.2026
These terms govern every purchase made at Shoppe by Olde Hansa. They are written to be read, not to be survived. Where a term of ours would give you less than Estonian or European consumer law gives you, the law wins and the term does not apply.
Who we are
The webshop at shoppe.ee, trading as Shoppe by Olde Hansa, is operated by Starmaker OÜ, registry code 10412838, VAT number EE100316568, registered at Vana turg 1, 10140 Tallinn, Estonia ("we", "us", the Seller).
Write to us at info@shoppe.ee or call +372 627 9020. We answer in Estonian and English.
Who this shop sells to
This shop sells to consumers — that is, to a natural person buying for purposes outside their trade, business or profession. Everything below is written for a consumer, and the consumer protections described here are yours by law.
Buying for a company? This shop is not set up for it, and placing a business order here would leave you with a contract written for someone else. Write to b2b@shoppe.ee instead and we will handle it properly, with an invoice made out to your company.
What we sell, and where we can send it
Glassware, pottery and books can be sent to any destination our checkout offers you.
Food is sold and delivered within Estonia only. The checkout will not accept it for any other destination.
Alcohol is not sent at all. It is collected in person at Olde Hansa, Vana turg 1, Tallinn — see Alcohol below, which also sets out the hours and the document check. If your basket contains alcohol, collection is the only option the checkout will offer you.
The destinations and delivery methods shown to you at checkout, for your actual basket are the ones that apply. If a carrier cannot serve an address, or if delivery would breach sanctions, export controls, customs or any other mandatory rule, we may decline the order and refund you in full.
If you are ordering to a destination outside the European Union, please check what your own country allows you to import before you order. We cannot know every country's rules, and a parcel refused at your border is a poor surprise. This does not shift onto you any duty the law places on us.
Prices and VAT
Prices are in euros and are shown including VAT. The price you see is the price you pay for the goods; delivery is calculated separately and shown to you before you order.
Estonian VAT is 24% on most of what we sell and 9% on books, which carry Estonia's reduced rate. Delivery always carries the standard 24%, whatever is in the parcel — carriage is a service in its own right and does not borrow the reduced rate from the goods it moves. A basket holding a book and a bottle therefore contains two rates, and each line is taxed at its own; the VAT actually applied is itemised on your confirmation.
Orders sent outside the EU. Where we send goods to a destination outside the European Union, the sale is an export and Estonian VAT is not charged — the checkout removes it before you pay, and your confirmation shows the sale at 0%. In exchange, import VAT, customs duty, brokerage and any import formalities in the destination country are yours. We do not collect those and cannot estimate them. Delivery is DAP unless the checkout says otherwise.
This VAT removal applies only to goods we actually ship out of the EU. It does not apply to anything you collect in person in Tallinn — goods handed over in Estonia are an Estonian sale, whatever your passport says — and it does not apply to gift cards.
If a parcel comes back to us because import charges were refused or customs formalities were not completed, we may deduct the costs we actually and reasonably incurred — return carriage, storage, customs handling — to the extent the law allows.
Errors
We take reasonable care over prices, descriptions and stock. Images may be illustrative; the material characteristics are on the product page.
If an obvious pricing, description or system error occurs and you knew, or could reasonably have been expected to know, that it was an error, we may cancel the affected item and refund it rather than perform at a price nobody intended. If stock runs out after you have ordered, we will tell you promptly and offer you a cancellation and refund, a new delivery date, or — only if you agree — a substitute.
How an order becomes a contract
You choose the goods, review your basket, give us your contact and delivery details, choose delivery and payment, see the total, and press Order and pay. Until you press it you can change or remove anything; the basket page and the checkout page both let you go back.
Pressing Order and pay places you under an obligation to pay. You are then taken to the payment provider.
The contract is concluded when your payment is confirmed and we send you the order confirmation by e-mail. We do not send that confirmation until the payment provider has told us, over a verified channel, that the payment succeeded. If payment does not complete, no contract arises and any pending order lapses within 24 hours.
We may decline an order before dispatch if the goods are unavailable, if payment cannot be verified, if delivery proves impossible, if performance would breach the law, or if we have reasonable grounds to suspect fraud. If we have taken your money, we refund it without undue delay.
Your confirmation, these terms and the withdrawal information are sent to you by e-mail, which is a durable medium — keep it. We also retain your order and can send you a copy on request.
Payment
You can pay by bank link, by payment card (including Apple Pay and Google Pay where your device offers them), and with a Shoppe gift card. A gift card can be combined with another method, and if it covers the whole total there is nothing left to pay.
Card and bank payments are handled by our payment providers, Montonio (payment initiation provided by Montonio Finance UAB, a licensed Lithuanian payment institution) and Stripe. You are redirected to their page to pay. Your card number never reaches this shop — we receive only a reference and a result.
Payment is taken at once, not on dispatch. We offer no instalment or buy-now-pay-later facility.
Discount codes and the newsletter offer
Discount codes come off the goods, not off delivery, and each code carries its own conditions — validity, minimum, and whether it can be combined — which are disclosed before you use it. A code that has expired or been spent is refused at checkout rather than silently ignored, so you find out before you pay, not after.
If you join our newsletter we send you a 10% code valid for 90 days. We only send it once you confirm the subscription from your own inbox — that link is what proves the address was yours. Unsubscribing is one click and costs you nothing already earned.
Delivery
Delivery options and prices are calculated for your actual basket and destination and shown before you order. Depending on where you are, they may include a parcel machine, a courier, post, or collection in person from Olde Hansa, Vana turg 1, Tallinn. Delivery is free on orders over 100 € where the checkout says so.
A basket containing alcohol is offered collection and nothing else — see Alcohol above. If you want a bottle and a jug in one order, the whole order is collected; if you would rather have the jug posted, place it as a separate order.
We dispatch on regular dispatch days each week. Transit times shown at checkout are estimates given by the carrier, not promises we control. What we do promise is that we will deliver no later than 30 days after the contract is concluded, unless we agreed something shorter with you. If a material delay becomes known to us, we will tell you and give you a revised date; you keep your right to set a reasonable further deadline and to cancel if we miss it.
We may split an order into more than one parcel for stock or logistics reasons at no extra cost to you, unless you specifically asked and we agreed to deliver separately. Splitting does not extend the time for whatever has not yet arrived.
Risk passes to you when you — or someone you name who is not the carrier — take physical possession of the goods. If you arrange your own carrier that we did not offer, risk passes when we hand the goods to them.
If delivery goes wrong
If a parcel is overdue, tell us and we will chase the carrier. If goods we sent are lost in transit before risk passed to you, we replace them or refund you — that loss is ours, not yours.
If something arrives damaged, tell us promptly, keep the goods and the packaging if you can, and send us photographs if we ask. Reporting late does not remove your statutory rights, unless the delay genuinely prevents us from investigating or from recovering from the carrier.
Please give us a complete and correct delivery address and tell us at once if you spot a mistake — after dispatch we cannot promise to fix it. Where the law allows, we may charge the costs actually caused by a wrong address, an uncollected parcel or a re-send. Simply not collecting a parcel is not a withdrawal notice; if you have changed your mind, tell us (see the Returns policy).
Alcohol
Starmaker OÜ is entered in the Estonian register of economic activities for the retail sale of alcohol, including e-commerce.
Attention! This is alcohol. Alcohol may damage your health.
Alcohol is not posted. It is collected in person, and only in person. We do not hand it to a courier, we do not put it in a parcel machine and we do not leave it on a doorstep — in each of those cases there is nobody present to check a document, and the document check is the whole control.
Where. Olde Hansa, Vana turg 1, Tallinn. The house is open every day 12–23.
When. Alcohol is handed over between 12–22 only. That is an hour tighter than our closing time, because Estonian law forbids the retail sale of alcohol between 22:00 and 10:00 — the last hour we are open is an hour in which a bottle may not cross the counter. Come within that window and the rest of your order can be collected at the same time.
The document check. Alcohol is sold only to a person aged 18 or over. Whoever collects an order containing alcohol must show a valid identity document at the counter. We do not hand alcohol to anyone under 18, to anyone who cannot show they are over 18, or to anyone who is visibly intoxicated. Somebody else may collect on your behalf if they are 18 or over and can show their own document.
We also ask you to confirm your age before you order, and you must do so — on the page where the drinks are shown, and again in the basket if you have not already. That confirmation is your own statement and it does not replace the check at the counter. We record that we asked and what you answered, and nothing else; our privacy notice sets out exactly what that means.
If age cannot be established at collection, the alcohol is not handed over. If you would rather not collect it after all, that is a withdrawal like any other and the Returns policy applies. We hold a paid order for collection for a reasonable time and will write to you before treating it as abandoned.
Food
The food we sell keeps well. Unless the product page or the label says otherwise, it does not need an unbroken cold chain, and ordinary short-term temperature variation in transit is fine. We pack and send it in a way suited to what it is.
Once your parcel reaches the parcel machine or your address and you have been notified, please collect it promptly — particularly in hot, sunny or freezing weather — and then store it as the label says. That does not excuse us from responsibility for unsuitable packaging, an unsuitable delivery method, or anything that went wrong before risk passed to you.
Allergen and ingredient information is on the product page and on the label. If you think a product reached you in poor condition or with a broken seal, tell us at once and do not eat it.
Gift cards
We sell electronic gift cards in denominations of 25 € · 50 € · 100 € · 150 € · 200 €, and gift cards for specific Olde Hansa experiences at the price shown. They arrive by e-mail, to you or to whoever you name.
A gift card can be spent in this shop, in one go or across several orders until the balance runs out. It cannot be exchanged for cash and we do not give change on it in cash. It is not a payment instrument and it is not reloadable.
Validity. A card is usable for 24 months from issue. That is the usability window, not a forfeiture of your money: if a card lapses unspent, write to us and we will honour the unused balance for as long as the general limitation period under Estonian law allows. We would rather reissue a card than keep money for something nobody received.
Lost or stolen. Tell us at once with the order number and we will block the code and reissue the unspent balance. We cannot recover value that has already been spent by whoever held the code, so treat the code like cash.
Changing your mind. An unused gift card bought online is covered by the ordinary 14-day withdrawal right — receiving it by e-mail does not remove that. See the Returns policy.
If something is wrong with what you received
We are responsible for goods that do not conform to the contract. In Estonia you can bring a claim for a lack of conformity that appears within two years of delivery, and you should tell us within two months of noticing it.
For anything that shows up in the first year, the law presumes the defect was there when we delivered — you do not have to prove it, we have to disprove it.
Ordinarily we will repair or replace the item first. Where the law's conditions are met you can instead have the price reduced, or cancel and be refunded. The necessary costs of putting a defect right — including return carriage — are ours, not yours. We give no separate commercial guarantee unless a product page expressly says so.
Complaints
Write to info@shoppe.ee or to Starmaker OÜ, Vana turg 1, 10140 Tallinn, Estonia. Tell us your name, your order number, what is wrong and what you would like us to do. We may ask for photographs, but not having any does not by itself defeat your claim.
We reply in writing within 15 days. If we cannot give you a final answer in that time, we will say so, explain why, and give you a date.
Disputes
Please come to us first — most things are settled in one e-mail.
If we cannot agree, you can take the matter to the Consumer Disputes Committee (Tarbijavaidluste komisjon), Endla 10A, 10122 Tallinn, ttja.ee/tarbijavaidluste-komisjon. Consumers elsewhere in the EU can also contact their European Consumer Centre. You can of course go to a competent court instead; nothing here requires you to litigate in Tallinn if the law gives you somewhere closer to home.
Law and language
Estonian law applies. If you live in another country and its consumer law gives you protections that cannot be contracted away, you keep those too — this choice of law does not take them from you.
These terms are published in Estonian, English, Finnish and Russian — every language this shop serves. The version that binds your contract is the language in which you concluded it — the language the shop was in when you ordered, which we record with your order. We do not ask you to be bound by a text you could not read.
Offering delivery to a country at checkout does not by itself mean we actively direct our business at that country.
Changes
We may change these terms. The version that governs your order is the one in force when you placed it, and that is the version we send you with your confirmation. Changes are never applied backwards to a contract already concluded.
This version is in force from 19.08.2026.
